Update 27 February

February 27, 2015 By Phixwd Leave a Comment

I don’t usually break the fortnightly pattern, but I thought I should wish ‘Bon appetit’ to the Listener Crossword Dinner in Harrogate this weekend .  I can’t keep up a run of spa towns after last year’s visit to Cheltenham.  Our Saturday evening will be the start of a Freddy Kempf Beethoven concerto cycle instead.

I also unaccountably forgot to mention the appearance of a Pedro puzzle in the Times 2 Cryptic slot on Thursday 5 March.  It’s preceded in reasonably short order by its senior partner in the same paper – anonymised, of course, so I really shouldn’t say precisely when (but there are only so many days in the week beginning with T).  Quite how I forgot both of those last week, I don’t know.  Excitement to tell you about tomorrow’s Inquisitor, I suppose.

And also RIP Nemo – an elderly (20+) foster cat we’ve been looking after for a few weeks.  We hadn’t expected him to live for too long, and yesterday he was still wandering round cadging food and sniffing the nip.  But this morning he just passed away, quite quickly.
